The Sunada
Music School successfully hosted a Baithak
Program on 11-02-2024, continuing the age-old tradition of intimate,
soulful musical gatherings that encourage deep listening and appreciation for
classical music. The event aimed to provide students with an authentic
experience of performing in a traditional concert setting while offering the
audience a close, immersive connection with the music.
Inauguration:
The evening
began with a short introduction by Ashwini Mahesh hedge, Vocals Mentor, Sunada Music School who emphasized
the cultural and educational significance of the baithak format in the Indian
classical music tradition. The lamp-lighting ceremony was conducted by senior
faculty members, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge through music.
Performances:
The baithak
featured performances by both students and teacher. Each artist performed in
the traditional seated format, with tanpura and tabla accompaniment, preserving
the spirit of a true baithak.

mesmerizing vocal recital by Ashwini Hegde, Vocals Mentor, Sunada Music School. Their
performance of Raga Madhuvanti captivated the
audience and served as an inspiration for students and parents alike.
Audience and Interaction:
The baithak
was attended by students, parents, faculty, and music lovers from the
community. A brief interactive session followed, where senior students and
guests engaged in a discussion on the nuances of raga interpretation and the
importance of traditional performance formats.
Conclusion:
The baithak
created an atmosphere of reverence, concentration, and pure musical
exchange a rare and valuable experience
in today’s fast-paced world. It not only honored the roots of classical music
but also encouraged students to embrace performance as a journey of inner
